About Me.
Hi, I'm Heather Thompson, The Success Coach. As a certified career coach & business mentor, I am deeply passionate about helping women globally make positive changes in their work. I believe having the right career and mindset will put you on the path to living your best life.
I've worked in customer facing jobs since I was 13 years old, and post graduating university, spent 15+ years working in corporate customer experience roles across the globe, helping individuals and companies achieve success through a customer and people centric approach. This experience helped me gain considerable skills in training and mentorship, leadership development, change management, recruitment and onboarding, communication, collaboration, innovation, customer experience, employee engagement, business growth, systems and scale and strategic planning.
While I enjoyed this work, I came to realise that it wasn't my soul's calling to work in corporate, and rather I wanted to help individual women around the globe unearth their true career potential and thrive in business & life . Personally, I valued more freedom, and so decided to set up my own business "The Success Coach" to use what I have learned to empower other women.
When people talk about my legacy, I want them to say "She made them bigger. She made them better".
I now offer strategic career coaching and mentorship for women, specialising in helping women with the skills, tools and strategies they need to successfully build careers and business they love. My service offerings focus on job interview preparation, career change, business growth mentoring, online workshops, alongside one to one personalised career coaching for women. I share free career resources through my social media channels, monthly email newsletter, "Recipes for Success" podcast and freebies.
I am now proud to say I am a certified career coach, qualified business & life coach, business mentor, podcaster, blogger, speaker, workshop facilitator and yoga teacher.

200 RYT Yoga Teacher
Om and Flow Yoga
I completed a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) (Yoga Alliance accredited) Hatha Vinyasa training program in French Polynesia, covering yoga philosophy, anatomy, teaching methodologies, and practical techniques for guiding yoga practices. This certification equips me to confidently lead yoga classes, cultivate mindfulness, and promote physical and mental well-being in students of all levels.

Irish Lifecoach Institute (ILI)
This Advanced Accredited CCEU ICF Programme is designed to provide specific career coaching tools and strategies. This program, offered by ILI since 2006, was instrumental in refining my career coaching skills. Accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the longest established and most respected Coach and Coaching Education Accrediting Organization in the world.
2021 - 2022
Diploma in Personal & Business Coaching
Irish Lifecoach Institute (ILI)
I completed this comprehensive eight-month diploma integrating coaching theory, personal growth, monthly readings, and hands-on experience through pro bono coaching and peer coaching sessions. Delivered as a hybrid program, it allowed me to develop a blended coaching practice of online and in-person sessions. Accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), ensuring rigorous standards and recognition of excellence in coaching education.
2020 - 2022
Bachelor of Arts in Humanities (Psychology Major)
Dublin City University (DCU)
I completed four modules from the DCU Bachelor of Arts in Humanities (Psychology Major), a Level 8 honours degree programme. These modules, including Exploring Psychological Research, What is Psychology?, What is Philosophy?, and The Philosophy of Knowledge, provided me with a deeper understanding of human behavior, cognition, and philosophical principles.
2019
Diploma in Coaching for Performance
Dublin Business School (DBS)
Covering the key principles of coaching, this diploma taught core me the core skills and confidence to coach, influence and motivate others in order to maximise their potential. As well as best practice coaching techniques like the GROW Model, the course covered topics like Emotional Intelligence and NLP. A hands on course, weekly we participated in coaching triads and class discussions.
2018
Diploma in Digital Marketing and Strategy
Dublin Business School (DBS)
This practical, professionally focused, evening diploma course expanded my knowledge of online marketing tools and techniques, such as SEO & PPC, the effective use of social media, how to develop and execute a digital strategy and online sales optimization e.g. A/B testing & clear call to actions.

First Class Honours
Received the Avocent International Award for Academic Excellence as I graduated top of my class. I studied topics such as Strategic Management, Innovation & Technology Management and Organisation Theory. Notably, our class led the formulation of a strategic HR plan for Medtronic Galway, presenting to senior executives from both Medtronic Galway and their Minneapolis headquarters. Additionally, my dissertation, "Rethinking your Business Model around Green," explored innovative sustainability strategies, while a strategic analysis for CityBin provided hands-on experience and direct engagement with CEO Gene Brown.

The Bachelor of Business and Law program offers an interdisciplinary approach, focusing on the intersection of business and legal principles. In addition, I served as a Committee Member for the UCD Law Review, overseeing article selection, and completed projects such as a reflective learning journal and website development for the UCD Rowing Club.
